Which upgrade pays back first?

Compare two purchases with your own income estimates. See the extra cash per minute, the recovery time and whether simply saving would reach your goal sooner.

Compare two upgrades before spending cash

Enter your current income and your estimated income after each upgrade. Compare extra cash per minute, payback time, and time to your target cash amount.

This calculator uses your estimates, not verified game statistics. All fields start empty. K = thousand, M = million, B = billion, T = trillion; Qa and Qi also work.

Your current run
Use cash earned per minute, not your total balance.
Leave empty to calculate from zero saved cash.
The balance you want to reach after paying for an upgrade.
Need to measure your current cash per minute?

Observe cash earned during a timed session without purchases. Enter the earnings and elapsed minutes below.

Must be greater than zero. Half a minute is 0.5.

Upgrade A
Upgrade B

Enter total income after purchase, not just the increase. Test or estimate each upgrade separately from the same starting point.

01 / Get a useful input

Measure before you compare.

  1. Write down your starting cash, active pets and current target.
  2. Let the same setup run for a fixed number of minutes. Avoid purchases, sales and one-off rewards.
  3. Subtract starting cash from ending cash, then divide by the minutes observed.
  4. For after-upgrade income, use a comparable measurement or a clearly identified estimate.

02 / The calculation

Count the extra income.

Extra income = after rate − current rate
Payback time = cost ÷ extra income

Time to your target also includes waiting until you can afford the purchase, subtracts its cost and then uses the new income rate. “Save without an upgrade” keeps your current rate.

The model assumes steady income and an immediate upgrade effect. It does not simulate egg luck, temporary boosts, future purchases or a rebirth reset.

Before using the result

What if the upgrade does not increase cash?

It has no cash payback in this model. It might still unlock a target or save time. Those benefits need a separate comparison; the calculator does not assign them a made-up cash value.

Does the planner know current game prices?

No. Enter the price shown in your game. Example values demonstrate the calculation and are not prices, pet stats or results from Clone to Steal Eggs.
